Desaguar (2026)

This is a dense, slow-burning shoegaze EP that reveals itself gradually.

The songs move at an unhurried pace, layering fuzzy guitars and dreamy textures in a way that feels more interested in atmosphere than immediate impact. Instead of grabbing you right away, the music slowly pulls you deeper into its world.

The vocals are sung in Portuguese, so I couldn’t follow the lyrics directly. But with music like this, that almost feels beside the point. The voice works more like another instrument woven into the soundscape, carrying emotion through phrasing, tone, and melody rather than direct storytelling. But obviously someone who understands the language would be able to unlock even more from these songs than I can

Shoegaze often exists somewhere between melancholy and beauty, and this EP settles comfortably into that space. The songs feel reflective and heavy without becoming overwhelming, with hooks that slowly emerge through the haze as the arrangements build around them.

What I appreciated most about Desaguar is how patient it feels. These aren’t quick bursts of distortion and melody. The tracks unfold gradually, letting the atmosphere settle in before the emotional weight fully arrives.

Even without understanding the lyrics, the feeling still comes through clearly. Sometimes the rise of a melody or the way a vocal line drifts across the guitars tells you everything you need to know.

Verdict: Good
