Stick It to Ya (1990)

This sounds like it came straight out of the late ’80s and just happened to land in 1990. Big hooks, glossy production, over-the-top vocals — all of it feels like a time capsule from that era. It’s glam metal through and through, with no real interest in adjusting to what was about to come next.

Which makes it kind of fun.

There’s a lot of cheese here — top tier, full commitment, no hesitation — but it works because the band leans all the way into it. The melodies are big, the choruses are built to stick, and everything feels designed to be loud and immediate.

“Up All Night” was the one I already knew, and it still hits — catchy, energetic, and exactly what you expect from a record like this. “Spend My Life” and “Fly to the Angels” lean more into the power ballad side, while “You Are the One” and “Gave Me Your Heart” keep that same glossy, melodic approach running through the album.

It’s a snapshot of a very specific moment in music history. The sound was already falling out of fashion, but the album never seems to care.

Verdict: Worth a Spin
