Album by Joan Jett
This is a covers album, which I’ve mostly been skipping during this listening tour through the 90s — but this one felt worth including.
While these are familiar songs, they come through with that unmistakable Joan Jett edge. The production leans a little more toward pop than some of her earlier stuff, but the attitude is still there.
A lot of these feel like they fit her naturally. “Dirty Deeds,” “Pretty Vacant,” “Tush,” and “Roadrunner” all land in that space where it doesn’t feel like she’s reinventing them so much as just taking ownership of them.
It’s a fun batch overall. Nothing too heavy, nothing too experimental — just a solid run of songs played with energy and personality.
Verdict: Worth a Spin
